Use the Optec 2500 Machine to Test Acuity and Depth Perception

1. Press the Red button on the small box to turn the machine on.

2. Press the top White button on the small box so it pops up.

3. Make sure both the Orange and Green buttons are pressed down.

4. Look at the number dial on the right side of the testing machine.

5. Notice how one of the numbers is lined up with the “FAR” slot.

Test for Far Acuity

6. Press the Yellow “Advance” button so that number “2” is lined up with the “FAR” slot.

7. Press your forehead against the button on the top of the testing machine - keep your forehead against the button during the test.

8. Write the number of the smallest line you can read __________

9. Write the letters in order on the lines below

Test for Depth Perception

1. Press the Yellow “Advance” button so that number “6” is lined up with the “FAR” slot.

2. Press your forehead against the button on the top of the testing machine - keep your forehead against the button.

3. Look at each diamond - study the rings inside the diamond

4. Then put an “X” thru the circle below that is standing out in each diamond – top, bottom, left or right?

5. Repeat for all 9 diamonds.

Turn the machine off
